发信人: forest318 (明明知道), 信区: Abroad 标 题: 澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织(CSIRO)招聘PhD Student/Visiting Scholar 发信站: BBS 珞珈山水站 (Thu Feb 21 17:31:50 2008) CHINA PhD Student/Visiting Scholar projects POSITION A Proposed duration: 12 months Title of project: Development of ionic liquids for CO2 capture Supervisors: Jewel Huang, Thomas Ruether Division: Energy Technology Location: Clayton, Melbourne Stream: Low Emission Electricity/Post Combustion Capture Project: Development of High Performance Ionic Liquids for CO2 Capture Contact: Jewel.huang@csiro.au Brief Project description: We would like to invite a PhD student or visiting scholar to join our project to develop novel ionic liquid materials for CO2 capture. This project falls in CSIRO's key research area of developing a range of post combustion capture (P CC) technologies to address the global issue of green house emission. CSIRO is currently working on PCC with China through AP6 program (Asia Pacific Partner ship on Clean Development and Climate initiative). The candidate will be involved in one or several of the following research are as: 1) synthesizing and characterising new ionic liquids, 2) carrying out the ab/desorption measurement, and 3) developing a range of analytical techniques to achieve a fundamental understanding of the relationship between chemical st ructure and physico/chemical property of the ionic liquids, the absorption mec hanism, and ab/desorption kinetics. The candidate will work with an ionic liquid research group which has strong b ackground in modelling, synthesis, characterization and application of ionic l iquids for energy storage/conversion and is now expanding its ionic liquid res earch to the area of CO2 capture. The candidate will have easy access to the s tate-of-art research facility across CSIRO and the newly opened Synchrotron Ce ntre. The candidate will also benefit from collaboration with other research g roups working on different CO2 absorbents across CSIRO and in universities. Skills required: Knowledge and experience in Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemis try, Physical Chemistry or Materials Chemistry. Ideally experience in handling ionic liquids and gas absorption. Project outcomes: The goal is to develop stable ionic liquids with improved absorption capacity, ab/desorption kinetics while remaining low sorption enthalpy, and to understa nd the mechanisms behind these. Developmental outcomes: The candidate will gain knowledge and experience in Organic Chemistry, Physica l Chemistry or Materials Science, will develop abilities in materials synthesi s, characterisation and mechanism interpretation. CSIRO will benefit from the input of laboratory work and knowledge from the candidate, and to initiate an d strengthen the collaboration with Chinese research groups in similar area. POSOTION B Proposed duration: 12 months Title of project: Development of ionic liquid electrolytes for energy storage and conversion Supervisors: Drs Jewel Huang, Thomas Ruether, Tony Hollenkamp Division: Energy Technology Location: Clayton, Melbourne Stream: Energy Storage Project: High Performance safe lithium batteries Contact: jewel.huang@csiro.au Brief Project description: We would like to invite PhD students or visiting scholars to join our project to develop novel ionic liquid electrolytes for energy storage devices. Ionic liquids, due to their high electrochemical stability and non-flammability, hav e been favourable alternatives to conventional organic electrolytes. However, there are still needs to improve their conductivity and to improve the compati bility with the electrode materials. In this project, the candidate will stud y in one or several of following research areas: 1) developing novel ionic liq uid electrolytes with low viscosity and high conductivity; 2) developing plast ic crystal electrolytes; 3) studying the physical/chemical properties of the e lectrolytes; 4) evaluating the performance of the novel electrolytes in lithiu m batteries, supercapacitors or dye-sensitized solar cells. The candidate will work in an ionic liquid research group which has a strong b ase in modelling, synthesis, characterization and application of ionic liquids for energy storage and conversion. The candidate will have easy access to the state-of-art research facility at CSIRO and the newly opened Synchrotron Cent re. The candidate will also be exposed to collaborations with universities and industry which are leading the way in ionic liquid research and development. Skills required: Knowledge and experience in Electrochemistry, Physical Chemis try, Organic Chemistry or Materials Chemistry are essential, ideally with know ledge in ionic liquids, plastic crystals, electrolytes, or energy storage devi ces. Experience in synthesis and characterisation of electrolytes, or in batte ry assembly and testing, is highly desirable. Project outcomes: The project will develop novel ionic liquid electrolyte materials with suitabl e physio/chemical properties for their applications in energy storage devices. The success in the research on electrolyte materials will lead to developing energy storage devices with desirable energy/power properties. Developmental outcomes: The candidate will gain knowledge and experience in Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or Materials Science; will grow abilities in ma terials synthesis and characterisation; and will develop understanding on ener gy storage devices. CSIRO will benefit from the input of laboratory work and knowledge from the candidate, and to initiate and strengthen the collaboration with Chinese research groups in similar area. Details of preferred student/research group/institution in China (if known) Open to all suitable candidates. (Advisory Council of Science and Industry)。 -- ※ 修改:·forest318 於 Feb 22 10:10:30 2008 修改本文·[FROM: 202.114.67.*] ※ 来源:·珞珈山水BBS站 http://bbs.whu.edu.cn·[FROM: 202.114.67.*] |
