We encourage highly motivated Ph.D. students in Biomedical, Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering to apply and participate in our exciting research projects. We are specifically looking for students with the following research interests and background: Field 1: Biomedical signal processing, machine learning, biomechanics Required Background and Skills: 1 Strong algorithm development and theoretical analysis capability 2 Proficient in machine learning, including pattern recognition, artificial intelligence, adaptive control, probability theory, and data fusion. 3 Understand the property of human electrophysiological signals 4 Previous experiences with computer vision 5 Previous experiences with human subject research (experimental design, data collection, and statistical analysis) 6 Strong programming skills (C/C++ and MATLAB) Desired Experience and Skills: • Background on human movement control, motion analysis, and gait analysis. • Previous experiences with hardware integration and data acquisition Field 2: Robotic control, Mechatronics Required Background and Skills: • Proficient in control theory and adaptive control • Strong background on robotic system control and design • Biomechanical modeling and simulation (dynamic modeling, musculoskeletal modeling, and finite element modeling) • Previous experiences in system integration and sensor integration • Strong programming skills (C/C++ and MATLAB) Desired Experience and Skills: • Previous experiences with Labview • Previous experiences with human-robot interface design • Knowledge on biomechanics, human movement, and human gait Contact: Interested students are encouraged to apply to our graduate program in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering.
